5th Years Hit All The Right Notes

Five 5th Year Music students enjoyed 2 visits to the National Concert Hall, Dublin before the Easter Holidays.  Megan Roddy, Niamh Rice, Justine Duffy, Niamh Murphy and Tara Duffy have spent the last few months working with a professional composer.  Their work was part of a project with Chamber Choir Ireland.

Each student had to compose a 4 part piece for a professional choir.   All students produced amazing pieces and the renowned conductor of Chamber Choir Ireland, Alan Leech, was very impressed.   All 5 students will receive a professional recording of their work.  On Friday, April 7th, the 5th year music class attended a concert in the National Concert Hall, where 2 of these pieces were performed; "Spellbound" by Niamh Murphy and "A Crazed Girl" by Niamh Rice.

Bush Post Primary Citizenship Morning

The annual Citizenship morning in Bush PPS was a great success. The first year students got  to meet various community groups and charitable organisations that demonstrate good citizenship on a local, national and international level. In small groups they got an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the work of these inspiring groups.

This year we included several groups who demonstrate good citizenship within our school as well as many outside agencies. In all 15 groups attended: Concern, the Red Cross, Dundalk Simon Community, SVP, Lions International, Carlingford Heritage Centre, Tidy Towns, Special Olympics, Dundalk Dog Rescue, the Samaritans, Glenmore AC, Green Schools, the Student Council, and Mountain View Tug of War Club.

Many thanks to all those who attended and gave up their time we really appreciate you!
