On Friday 19th October, Roisín Faherty from IT Tallaght came to Bush Post Primary School to do 2 workshops with our 5th year Computer Science students.
During the 1st workshop, students put their coding and problem solving skills to the test using Micro:bits to create their own pedometers, temperature monitors which displayed a warning when the temperature dropped below a certain level and they also used the Micro:bits to transmit information about the temperature between each other.
In the 2nd workshop, the students learned about databases and some of the programming behind them. To finish off the workshops, Roisín did some Computational Thinking / Problem Solving tasks with the students.
All students enjoyed the workshop which was was very relevant for their new Leaving Certificate Computer Science course.
