Once again we had our annual Citizenship morning in Bush PPS. It is fitting that on the 10th year of the event it was our greatest turn out. We had 18 attendees – although the Fire service in a touch of realism had to spring into action as they got a call out just as we were starting. The other participants were:
Glenmore AC, The Red Cross, The Coast Guard, Sub Aqua Search and Rescue, Society of St Vincent de Paul, Samaritans, Marie Goretti Foundation, Cooley Credit Union, Green Schools, Student Council, Pope John Paul 11 Award, Engage for Change, ISPCC, Dundalk Dog Rescue, Tidy Towns, SOSAD and Scouting Ireland.
The students got to visit many of these fantastic organisations and learn about the work that they do. It was good for them to know that there are so many people who care, and give up their time to contribute to their community on a local, national and international level. Hopefully some of our young people will be inspired to follow their example and contribute to the wellbeing of their community. Many thanks to all the organisations who attended.
