JCT/RIAI Competition Success!
Congratulations to our first year Graphics student Maia Davidson. Maia's hard work and determination to succeed has been heavily rewarded by having her work put on display in the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI) building in Dublin. This only came about after the first week of the school closing (Covid 19) when a group of first year graphics student entered a nationwide competition run by JCT4 (subject support group for technology subjects) in collaboration with the RIAI. This work was solely produced from home and through distance learning.
Students were asked to draw 'an object or a place' which they considered, made them happy. Students had the use their drawing skills and a combination of topics they had undertaken up until that point in first year, this was far from straightforward. Plenty of entries were put forward but one student's drawing in particular was deemed worthy by the organisers and has been selected among others throughout the country.
Hopefully this is the start of very a very bright future for one of our budding students. Well done Maia!
JCt4 have tweeted a presentation of others nationwide who were also successful (see link below 1m 15 secs for Maia's entry!)
