Our Transition Year students recently attended a powerful and thought-provoking road safety presentation delivered by Garda David Buckley. The presentation highlighted the devastating impact that road traffic accidents can have on individuals, families and communities, while emphasising the importance of making safe and responsible choices on the road.

During the session, Garda Buckley spoke about a range of important road safety issues affecting young people today, including the dangers associated with e-scooter use, the need for greater awareness and respect for cyclists on our roads, and the serious risks of using mobile phones while driving. Through real-life examples, students gained a deeper understanding of how a moment’s distraction or poor decision can have life-changing consequences.

The talk served as a valuable reminder that road safety is everyone’s responsibility and that making sensible choices can save lives.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Garda Buckley for taking the time to speak with our students. We greatly appreciate his honesty, professionalism and commitment to educating young people about road safety and helping them become responsible road users.
