As you are aware Bus Éireann operates the school transport scheme on behalf of the Department of Education. Applications for the academic year 2026/2027 are currently closed.

• Applications for School Transport for the new school year are currently closed but information can be accessed online at www.buseireann.ie/schooltransport
• Details of the scheme are also available on Bus Éireann’s website and Department of Education’s website gov.ie/schooltransport.
• The closing date for NEW school transport applications was Friday 8^th May 2026.
• Existing school transport applications will automatically roll over into the new school year.
• Payments or medical cards were received up to June 2026.
